Venza pours on the power amid a wonderfully non-confining cabin. Rear seat passengers (even tall adults) will feel roominess akin to being a front seat passenger. For a more relaxing position, the 60/40 rear seat can be put in a slight recline (about 14 degrees). Behind the back seat is a cargo zone with more than 34 cubic feet of space. On the safety side, the Venza comes with standard power-assisted ventilated front/solid rear disc brakes as well as seven airbags, including a driver’s knee airbag and front and rear roll-sensing side curtain airbags.

A 2.7-liter, 182 horsepower 4-cylinder (new to the Toyota line-up) or a 3.5-liter, 268 horsepower 6-cylinder dishes up Venza’s muscle. Both engines mate to a six-speed sequential, electronically controlled automatic transmission. The 4-cylinder powered Venza rides on 19-inch aluminum wheels, while the 6-cylinder powered 5-door rides on 20-inch wheels – representing a first for a Toyota car. Venza is available in either front wheel drive or all wheel drive configurations. The all wheel drive Venza with V6 power has estimated per gallon fuel economy of 18 city and 25 highway and carries a MSRP of $29,250.
