The three trims (S, LS, and LSE) of Isuzu Rodeo get refocused in 2001. Base model S Rodeo now offers an automatic (on 2.2-liter 2WD) as a transmission choice. The mid-level LS Rodeo makes an AM/FM cassette with eight-speaker standard fare, and the top-of-the-line LSE Rodeo makes an AM/FM cassette with built-in 6-disc changer and eight speakers a standard offering. Other LSE additions made standard for 2001 model year include an under floor mounted spare tire, and a new four-way power adjustable driver’s seat. There are also several revisions to the various package offerings as well as a one-time only offering, the Rodeo Anniversary Edition.

Base version Rodeo’s standard powerplant is an inline four cylinder engine that produces 130 horsepower, while the uplevel power source is a 205 horsepower 3.2-liter V6. When equipped, Rodeo utilizes an electronic shift-on-the-fly 4WD. Staying the course on Rodeo is the chassis and suspension set-up. The ladder-type frame/box section main rails used on this vehicle means nearly every pothole is met with a non-pulsed response. Mileage estimates for Rodeo powered by V6 engine mated to automatic transmission are 16 city/20 highway. That same Rodeo has a MSRP of $31,430.
