The three-row Sorento adds a new variant, the X-Pro — available only on the SX-Prestige trim. X-Pro adds all wheel drive, BF Goodrich all terrain tires, 17-inch wheels, plus a towing capacity up to 4,500 pounds, providing an adventurous undertone to this midsize crossover utility vehicle. The week-long tested Sorento X-Pro SX-Prestige was flush with plenty of other standard equipment, including dual 12.3-inch panoramic screen display, and one-touch slide and fold second row seats.
Tested Kia Sorento was powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that produces 281 horsepower at 5800 rpm and 311 torque. The engine mated to an 8-speed dual clutch transmission. Cargo stow space rings in at 75.5 cubic feet behind the front seats, 38.5 cubic feet behind the second row, and 12.6 cubic feet behind the third row. Legroom exceeds 41 inches in the first and second rows, but dips to just under 30 inches in the third row. The 110.8-inch wheelbase Kia Sorento X-Pro SX-Prestige has a base MSRP of $47,390 and collects estimated mpg of 20 city and 27 highway.
