Shake it up. That’s just what Kia has done by adding the sassy Stinger sports sedan to its line-up. The all-new Stinger was outrageous fun during a week-long test drive. Stinger’s dynamic handling glistened on expressway drives and curvy highway cruises that included rapid acceleration and hard braking. Stinger’s pristine handling underlies a stiff chassis complimented by a MacPherson front suspension and a five-link rear suspension. Ride comfort isn’t an afterthought, either, as front and rear occupants have substantial legroom and headroom. All trim levels include standard heated front seats, heated/leather-wrapped steering wheel, and sun-visors with illuminated vanity mirrors.

The tested 2018 Kia Stinger was powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that produces 255 horsepower at 6200 rpm and 260 pounds-feet of torque from 1400-4000 rpm. (Stinger is also offered with a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 that releases 365 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 376 pounds-feet of torque from 1300-4500 rpm.) Engines mate to a second-generation, 8-speed automatic transmission. The 114.4-inch wheelbase Stinger is available in rear wheel drive or all wheel drive (AWD). Stinger is sold in five trims: base, premium, GT, GT1, GT2. The tested Kia Stinger AWD carries a base MSRP of $34,100 and collects estimated mpg of 21 city/29 highway.
