Jeep Renegade alters its look with the new-for-2017 Altitude. The Jeep Renegade Altitude provides a unique blacked-out exterior with 18-inch Gloss Black wheels and Gloss Black exterior accents on the grille and taillamp rings. On the inside, High Gloss Black finishes are paired with Metal Diamond accents. During a week-long test drive, Renegade demonstrated the powerful appeal of strong fuel economy without sacrificing ride and handling or on-demand engine power. The test driven 4X4 vehicle’s attitude is underscored by a 21-degree approach angle and a 32.1-degree departure angle.

Powering the Renegade is a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder that produces 180 horsepower at 6400 rpm and 175 pounds-feet of torque at 3900 rpm. The engine mates to a 9-speed automatic transmission. Renegade’s electric power rack and pinion steering provides 2.68 lock-to-lock turns, which is a big reason for this SUV’s parking prowess. The 101.2-inch wheelbase vehicle provides plenty of space for occupants, including 40.5 inches of headroom and 35.1 inches of legroom for rear seat riders. Renegade provides 18.5 cubic feet of cargo space with rear seats upright and 50.8 cubic feet with rear seats folded. The 2017 Jeep Renegade Altitude 4X4 carries a base MSRP of $23,495 and collects estimated mpg of 21 city/29 highway.
