The Dodge Durango adds touches of finery via the Anodized Platinum appearance package available on the Durango Citadel model. This new-for-2017 package provides two-tone Nappa leather seats with silver stitching as well as other upscale interior and exterior accents. Other changes for 2017 include the base model Durango offering only two seating rows. (Other Durango model trims offer a choice of two or three seating rows.) The 119.8-inch wheelbase Durango delighted driver and occupants during a week-long test drive with a very composed ride over paved and unpaved roads.

Durango Citadel is the only Durango model trim offered with a choice of two engines: a 3.6-liter V6 or a 5.7-liter HEMI V8. The test driven Durango Citadel with V6 engine produced 293 horsepower at 6400 rpm and 260 pounds-feet of torque at 4000 rpm. An 8-speed automatic transmission is standard equipment on all Durango models. The Durango is offered in rear wheel drive and all wheel drive configurations. Cargo capacity is 17.2 cubic feet behind third row, 47.7 cubic feet behind second row, and 84.5 cubic feet behind front row with rear seats folded. Test driven Durango Citadel Anodized Platinum AWD carries a base MSRP of $43,995 and estimated mpg of 18 city/25 highway.
