The 2014 Impala’s arrival signaled a new look with plenty of technology. The dazzle continues on the 2015 model with stop/start engine technology that automatically shuts down the engine when the vehicle is not moving, such as at a stop light. This fuel saving feature is paired with the 2.5-liter 4-cylinder Ecotec engine. The 2015 Chevrolet Impala’s next-generation MyLink infotainment system allows for connectivity with as many as 10 mobile devices. Add a subscription to OnStar with 4G LTE and the car is its own Wi-Fi hotspot whenever the engine is on. (Impala owners can test it during a 3-month trial that includes 3 gigabytes of data.)

Impala is powered by a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder that releases 196 horsepower at 6300 rpm and 186 pounds-feet of torque at 4400 rpm. (A new-for-2015 bi-fuel Impala uses a 3.6-liter V6.) A one- week test drive of the front wheel drive Impala showcased the sedan’s comfortable ride and responsiveness filtering through an electric variable-assist steering system. The 111.7-inch wheelbase sedan can be fitted with rear cross traffic alert, forward collision alert, and ultrasonic rear park assist. Impala is offered in five trims. MSRP of the Impala 1LZ with 4-cylinder and 6- speed automatic transmission is $34,315 with estimated mpg of 22 city/31 highway.
