The Titan debuted in 2004 and in some regards this truck is showing its age. Titan’s interior isn’t quite as refined as some of its full-size pickup truck competitors. And with its harsh ride and bouncy road attack, the Titan isn’t shy about showing its rough-and-rugged demeanor. The truck is fitted with a powerful V8, the only engine offered. But a weeklong test drive proved there’s still plenty to admire. Truckers like to haul things, and the Titan can be very accommodating and protective with its available spray-on bedliner, Utili-track cargo-carrying system, and the lockage storage unit within the rear body side.

Powering the Nissan Titan full-size pickup truck is a 5.6-liter V8 engine that pumps out 317 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 385 pounds-feet of torque at 3400 rpm. Titan is sold in King Cab and Crew Cab body styles, 4x2 and 4x4 drive configurations, three bed lengths, four trims as well as 138.8 inch and 159.5 inch wheelbases. Maximum towing capacity for the King Cab is 9,500 pounds and 9,400 pounds for the Crew Cab. The fully boxed ladder-type/body-on-frame Titan 4x4 PRO-4X featuring a 5-speed automatic transmission with tow/haul mode and 3.357:1 final gear ratio collects estimated mpg of 12 city/17 highway and has a MSRP of $39,780.
