For the 2012 model year, the Suzuki Grand Vitara compact SUV adds the Ultimate Limited Adventure Edition to its base, Premium, and Limited trim choices. Grand Vitara’s Ultimate Limited Adventure Edition provides fog lamps, 18-inch smoked alloy wheels, heated and water-resistant two-tone seats, side mirrors with turn signal indicators, and other features. The 103.9-inch wheelbase Grand Vitara sports a unit body/integral ladder frame, and 4-wheel independent suspension. Grand Vitara can handle highway excursions and off-road jaunts with aplomb. The SUV is available in rear wheel drive, single-mode 4-wheel drive as well as 4-mode full-time four wheel drive models.
The Grand Vitara is powered by a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 166 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 162 pounds-feet of torque at 4000 rpm. That engine can be paired with either a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission. The SUV’s standard equipment includes a Garmin navigation unit. Garmin’s nuLink! service permits mobile access to Google local search, so nearby fuel prices and other information can be tapped in-vehicle. Since the navigation unit can be detached from its dashboard position, it is also a portable device for hiking and other needs. Estimated fuel economy for the Grand Vitara with full-time 4-wheel drive is 19 mpg city and 23 mpg highway. Grand Vitara Ultimate Adventure Edition’s MSRP is $23,949.
