With its long wheelbase (123.2 inches) and long vehicle length (17-plus feet), the Nissan Armada full-size SUV is a burly road patroller. The vehicle is offered in three trims (SV, SL and Platinum). For 2012, the luxury-laden platinum model expands the standard fare list with second row heated seats and new front row padded center console lid. The Platinum model also provides the option of equipping the vehicle with second row captain’s chairs. Armada Platinum’s standard adornments include a power tilt/side moonroof, power rear liftgate, leather-wrapped heated steering wheel, and chrome-clad 20-inch aluminum alloy wheels with Michelin tires. The full-size Armada SUV is offered in two wheel drive and four wheel drive configurations.

Powering the Armada is a 5.6-liter V8 that releases 317 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 385 pounds-feet of torque at 3400 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission. When properly equipped, the 4WD SUV has an up to 9000-pound towing capacity. Armada’s fully boxed frame is complimented by a four-wheel independent double wishbone suspension, and the Armada Platinum and SL models are available with an automatic self-leveling rear air suspension. The vehicle has a 40/20/40-split second row bench seat and a 60/40-split third row bench seat that folds flat into the floor. Estimated mpg of the Armada 4x4 is 12 city and 18 highway.
