The Ram 2500 Power Wagon’s addition of an all-new 6-speed automatic transmission means incredibly smooth gear shifts. The transmission mates to the gasoline-fueled 5.7-liter HEMI V8 that delivers 383 horsepower at 5600 rpm and 400 pounds-feet of torque at 4000 rpm. Special features of the transmission are Electronic Range Select, which allows the driver to limit manually the highest available gear, and a specific shift schedule to accommodate heavy-load towing. The new transmission also provides automatic downshifts while decelerating. Ram 2500 Power Wagon’s strength is supported by an army of technology, including electric-locking front and rear differentials; electronic disconnecting sway bar; custom-built, front bumper accessed 12,000-pound electric winch; and Bilstein shocks.

The lockable and lighted RamBox feature is available on several versions of the Ram (including 2500 Power Wagon) with the 6-foot-4-inch bed. It’s a nifty storage feature that previously was only offered on the Ram 1500 with a 5-foot-7-inch bed. The 6-foot-4 and 8-foot cargo boxes include bedrail caps as protection armor against dents and scratches. Ram 2500 is sold in 3 body styles (regular cab, crew cab and mega cab). There are two 4x4 transfer case options: a manual unit that’s standard on ST and Power Wagon models, and an electric shift-on-the-fly. Standard attributes of the Ram 2500 Power Wagon include 4.56 rear axle ratio, 34-gallon fuel tank, skid plates for fuel tank and transfer case, and an integrated trailer brake controller with display. Base price of the Ram Power Wagon Crew Cab 4x4 is $45,565.
