Liberty Limited Jet’s MSRP drops $795 in 2012 compared to 2011. That’s a good thing, especially since the Limited Jet edition is the top-of-the-line Liberty trim. Liberty is also offered in Sport and Limited versions. Beyond the price cut on the Limited Jet edition, the changes for 2012 are minimal and include new exterior colors and additional available features on the Sport trim. Liberty Limited Jet’s distinguishing features include 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, body side moldings, roof rails, smoky black headlamps, and unique badging. From a ride and handling perspective, Liberty is more-truck like and less car-like. The truck-like cues are also evident in Liberty’s rugged-styled exterior.

All Jeep Liberty models are powered by a 3.7-liter V6 that produces 210 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 235 pounds-feet of torque at 4000 rpm. Two four wheel drive versions are offered: a part-time system (Command-Trac II), which is standard; and a full-time, active on-demand system (Select-Trac II). Liberty’s industry exclusive Sky Slider (a power-slide, open-air canvas roof) accents the vehicle’s casual, athletic demeanor. Standard features on Limited Jet include 60/40 split folding rear seat, hill start assist, hill descent control, rear window wiper/washer, and heated front seats. Estimated mpg for the SUV with a 4-speed automatic transmission is 15 city/21 highway. Liberty Limited Jet’s MSRP is $28,560.
