With its 2009 model year re-design still fresh and relevant, the 2010 version of the Audi A4 Avant is essentially unchanged. Differences between 2009 and 2010 vehicles include the third-generation of the Multi Media Interface (MMI) infotainment system with Sirius traffic as the backdrop to vehicles fitted with navigation as well as Premium Plus and Prestige trimmed models being fitted with LED taillights. The A4 Avant (with Avant indicating a wagon body style) has a silky-smooth ride, thanks in large part to a five-link front suspension and an independent wheel/trapezoidal rear suspension. (Front and rear suspension designs emphasize aluminum as a means of reducing the un-sprung weight.)

Power is precise and prompt with the 2.0-liter turbocharged, direct injection 4-cylinder that pushes 211 horsepower from 4300-6000 rpm and 268 pounds-feet of torque between 1500-4200 rpm. Interior-wise, the A4 Avant is spacious and comfortable for front and back seat occupants. The next-generation MMI system features a high-resolution 7-inch TFT dashboard display and 3D mapping. Those and other MMI changes are definitely noticeable improvements. The Audi A4 Avant with Tiptronic 6-speed automatic transmission collects estimated mpg of 21 city/27 highway and carries an MSRP of $35,350.
