The full-size 2008 Titan pickup goes for the long-stretch with the addition of a long wheelbase version, which with the King Cab body means an eight-foot truck bed. Titan’s long wheelbase version is paired with a 37-gallon fuel tank, making it the largest in its class. That super-sized fuel tank can be a flex-fuel offering, which enables the Titan to run on gasoline or an ethanol fuel blend. (Flex-fuel capability is a no extra cost option.) Nissan Titan also adds a model – the PRO-4X – to its XE, SE, and LE line-up. The LE version is offered with standard 20-inch aluminum alloy wheels in the 2008 model year, while the XE, SE and PRO-4X have standard 18-inch wheels. Titan’s 2008 alterations include a revised front end and interior brush-ups to the seat design and gauge clusters.

Those ‘new-look’ gauge clusters can be seen at night via the driver’s side window, and this bizarre reflection in-the-side-glass is rather distracting, especially since the driver’s eyes frequently need to scan the view within the oversized side mirrors. (The driver also can see the audio head read-out reflected in the back window glass.) On the power side, the Titan provides a 5.6-liter V8 engine (producing 317 horsepower and 385 pounds-feet of peak torque) and a standard 5-speed automatic transmission with tow-haul mode. Maximum towing for the King Cab Titan is 9,500 pounds. The LE version’s standard fare includes a two-speed transfer case, rear sonar park assist, fog lights, factory-applied spray-on bed liner, and power adjust pedals. Titan 4x4 LE has mpg gasoline ratings of 12 city/17 highway and a MSRP of $35,150.
