Kia’s flagship sedan is a stunner. The Amanti is really a showy car – definitely presenting a look that most consumers do not associate with affordability. But the front wheel drive Amanti carries a suggested price far below $30,000, and the latest inspired alterations make this car a definite showstopper. Starting with the exterior, the 2007 Amanti looks very different than the 2006 version. High-class exudes from the re-designed grille, headlamps, hood, front and rear bumpers, alloy wheels, and trunk deck lid. Other exterior primping adds to the visual appeal. Amanti’s interior revisions are omni-present, including a redesigned instrument panel, floor console, and steering wheel controls. Among the new options are power adjustable pedals.

On the power front, the Amanti tosses aside the 3.5-liter V6 that produced 200 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 220 pounds-feet of torque for a 3.8-liter aluminum V6 engine that lets loose with 264 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 260 pounds-feet of torque at 4500 rpm. The engine is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. The previous Amanti was a bit hefty with a 4,021-pound curb weight, but suspension modifications make the 2007 Amanti a more nimble transporter. And its current curb weight is now 3,770 pounds. Kia Amanti is an upscale sedan adorned with a reasonable MSRP of $25,495. Per gallon mileage estimates are 19 city and 26 highway.
