It’s not that riding in this vehicle requires a mega-phone to communicate from front seat to back seat occupants, but the Ram Mega Cab is immense in size. In fact, it’s the largest pickup cab ever for Dodge. Getting into the cab is not an easy step-up. So for most people under 6-foot, a fold-down ladder would make the ingress-egress easier. The all-new Mega Cab provides a whopping 145.2 cubic feet of space and stretches 111.1 inches in length. The rear door opening is 34.5 inches, and that door swings open to an 85-degree angle. Riding in the back seat of this pick-up is not a sentence to succumb to cramped quarters. Heck, the rear seats recline (a pick-up first) from a 22 to a 37-degree seatback angle, and the back seat occupants have 44.2 inches (more than 3 _ feet) of legroom.

The Dodge Ram Mega Cab is available in 1500, 2500 and 3500 models and in the SLT and Laramie trims. In a one-week test drive of the Ram 3500 SLT Mega Cab 4x4, the pick-up truck powered by the optional 5.9-liter, inline six-cylinder High Output Cummins turbo diesel engine (325 horsepower at 2900 rpm and 610 pounds-feet of torque at 1600 rpm) and mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission grabbed the attention of virtually everyone – because of its (yes) bigness. For those who rode in the truck, one often-voiced comment was that the Mega Cab’s air conditioning system just wasn’t strong enough to cool down the entire interior environment. The 3500 Ram Mega Cab 4x4 sports a 34-gallon fuel tank and has a MSRP of $42,600.
