There’s just really not much that the Hummer H2 Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) can’t master, even more so with 2005’s slightly more powerful Vortec V8 with peak horsepower of 325 at 5200 rpm and 365 pounds-feet of torque at 4000 rpm. (The 2004 model’s Vortec V8 had 316 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 360 pounds-feet torque at 4000 rpm.) Other new for 2005 twists – besides the addition of a new model, the H2 Sport Utility Truck (SUT) – include standard wheat-colored leather seating, updated OnStar (6th generation), and new exterior colors, Stealth Gray and Desert Sand.

H2 continues to showcase a crazy-fun, crazy-big ride. Seats are exceptionally roomy. The interior dash puts forth burly sized knobs instead of thimble-sized controls. Speed, rpm and other relevant status information are easy-to-read because the hooded gauges are front and center and sized b-i-g. H2 is absolutely, positively gigantic in every way. The four-wheel-drive H2’s V8 engine is mated to a 4-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with an oversized L-shaped gear shifter. Outside of the Hummer line-up, you’ll be hard pressed to find a crawl ratio of such immense impressiveness. It’s 33:1. Standard features are pretty crazy-cool, too, and include items like fold-flat second row heated seats, triple sealed doors, and front wench receiver. MSRP is $52,430.
