The Dodge Stratus R/T knows how to keep interest peaking. Although the car has only minor changes (new front end and monochromatic grille) for the 2004 model year, Stratus R/T chills the roadways with an all-aluminum 2.7-liter V6 that produces 200 horsepower and 190 pounds-feet torque. The optional AutoStick four-speed transmission that allows manual up/down shifting still lacks the true excitement of a genuine manual, which is the standard transmission on the R/T model. From a safety standpoint, the sedan has a 5-star frontal crash rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Stratus R/T includes such standard fare as sport steering wheel, sunvisors with illuminated vanity mirrors, fog lamps, trunk lid spoiler, 17-inch aluminum wheels, 12-volt power outlet, and air conditioning. The option list includes auto-dimming rear view mirror, security alarm, and 8-way power driver’s seat. Per gallon mileage ratings for the R/T with automatic transmission are 21 city/28 highway. Stratus is also sold in other versions: SE, SXT and ES. All models received interior revisions, including new door trim panels, and new seat fabric. Stratus R/T MSRP is $22,125.
