The latest Accord sequel stands large for its sheer scope of revisions. As a 7th generation product, Accord acquires new concave and convex angle styling, new engines and transmissions as well as a gaggle of additional standard equipment. The test driven Accord featured the new 240 horsepower/212 peak torque 3.0-liter V6. Power output increases by 40 horsepower with the new V6. (A new inline, 160 horsepower 2.4-liter 4-cylinder gains 10 horsepower compared to the last 4-cylinder.) New 5-speed automatic transmissions – one for 4-cylinder and one for V6 – replace the 2002 model year’s four speed automatic transmissions. Accord’s new unibody design equates to a 27% stiffer frame.

Accord sedan continues to emphasize an interior environment for the everyday driver. New, larger seats flank a roomier occupant interior. A single display serves as a cohesive control point for audio, climate, and a next-generation Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System (when equipped). EX V6-powered models now provide separate temperature controls for driver and front passenger. All Accord models now have standard anti-lock brakes. Standards on the four-door EX V6 Accord include AM/FM stereo with 6-disc in dash CD changer, heated front seats, sunglass holder, front center console with sliding armrest, cruise control, and new multi-function key. Accord has estimated miles per gallon of 21 city/30 highway with V6 engine mated to automatic transmission. MSRP is $25,800.
