For those who want a sumptuous ride, the all-new Infiniti M45 four-door delivers. This sedan – from the luxury vehicle division of Nissan – spins a near-perfect portrait of perfection. (The lone miscue during a one-week/600 mile-plus test drive was a steering pull that’s likely corrected with a minor brake adjustment.) M45 makes a majestic statement about what it should be like to travel in splendor. There’s wonderful eye-appeal in the interior, especially with the genuine Rosewood dashboard accents. The 7-inch liquid crystal display is nicely positioned for audio read-outs and heating/air conditioning reports. And when the $10,500 Premium Package is added, the LCD also serves as the interface for what’s behind the sedan during reverse gear movements. The rearview monitor not only gives a look at what is behind the car, but it includes graphical lines to indicate what direction the car is actually heading – which can be very helpful when parking between vehicles.

The M45’s exhaust-engine sound strikes the right chord. Everyone will know at accelerator impact that this car intends to move f-a-s-t. The 4.5-liter 32-valve V8 engine produces 335 horsepower at 6400 rpm and 340 pounds of peak torque at 4000 rpm. Engine mates to a five-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode. M45 has a push button start/stop feature. The slight oddity of it is the keyfob is needed to lock/unlock doors, so it seems strange to have the keyfob in hand only to ignore it when starting the ignition. From the exterior, the car strikes a see-ya-later pose with L-shaped LED taillights and quad tailpipes. M45’s unibody construction is made of high strength steel while the inner and outer door panels, hood and decklid are made of aluminum alloy. Rear seat passengers will like the room and amenities, like an 8-inch roof mounted entertainment system, rear passenger heating/air conditioning controls, and heated and power reclining seats that are part of the Premium Package. M45’s mile per gallon estimate is 17 city/23 highway. MSRP is $46,750.
