The three-row 2023 Kia Telluride SUV’s cosmetic changes include a new look for front and rear fascias and front grille as well as new wheel designs. Telluride also adds two trims: the X-Pro and the X-Line. The X-Line spotlights a higher ground clearance (8.4 inches versus the standard 8.0 inches), body color door handles, raised roof rails, and exclusive 20-inch wheels. X-Line’s staples also make trailering and rough roads less of a headache, thanks to a tow-mode (which alters the powertrain settings), upgraded traction control, and improved approach and departure angles. A week-long Telluride test drive earned a high-five for relevant design and engineering revisions.

Telluride is powered by a 3.8-liter V6 producing 291 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 262 pounds-feet of torque at 5200 rpm. Engine mates to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle provides four drive modes (smart, eco, sport, comfort). When equipped with active on-demand AWD, there are two additional modes: snow and AWD lock. Cargo space behind the third row is 21 cubic feet. There’s 46 cubic feet behind second row and 87 cubic feet with second and third row seats folded flat. The tested 114.2-inch wheelbase Telluride SX-Prestige X-Line AWD collects estimated mpg of 18 city/24 highway and carries a base MSRP of $51,785.
