The Infiniti QX50’s cabin is lavishness on parade. It’s a lasting impression after a week-long test drive of the crossover SUV. QX50’s materials, textures, patterns, and colors all work together for a striking interior look. The 2022 model adds Apple CarPlay compatibility and ProPilot Assist (a hands-on driver assist system) to the standard fare list. Beyond that, the QX50 is essentially unchanged from its full redesign in 2019. Dual touchscreen displays (upper and lower dash) provide digital interface points. The upper display handles map and navigation duties and serves as the 360-degree around view monitor, if equipped.

QX50 is powered by a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder variable compression (VC) turbocharged engine producing 268 horsepower at 5600 rpm and 280 torque from 1600-4800 rpm. The world’s first mass-produced VC turbocharge engine mates to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The utility vehicle has approximately 31 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seat and slightly more than 65 cubic feet with rear seat folded. QX50 is offered in five trim grades: Pure, Luxe, Essential, Sensory, and Autograph. The tested 110.2-inch wheelbase Infiniti QX50 Essential with all wheel drive collects estimated MPG of 22 city and 28 highway and carries a base MSRP of $48,950.
