Designed and engineered by the Ford Performance team, the Bronco Raptor isn’t intimidated by jagged rocks, water-logged underbrush, sandy marshes, or other nasty terrain. New for 2022, Bronco Raptor’s pilings are notches beyond the base Bronco. The differentiators include larger front and rear driveshafts; a terrain management system with G.O.A.T. modes like rock crawl, Baja, tow/haul; 50% greater torsional rigidity; heavy-duty skid plates; and a transfer case with 4x4 Lo providing a 67.7:1 crawl ratio. Bronco Raptor’s minimum 13.1-inch ground clearance exceeds the base Bronco by 4.8 inches. A week-long Bronco Raptor test drive focused on rollicking hills and slithering curves amid paved roads and muddy, gravel-laced pathways underscored this SUV’s impressive capabilities.

The tested Bronco Raptor was powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 delivering 418 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque. The engine mates to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Bronco Raptor’s cabin showcases an all-digital 12-inch center stack touchscreen that includes a Raptor-exclusive performance view spotlighting tachometer and gear information. Other interior standard features include an 8-inch gauge cluster, 60/40 split fold rear seat, and a 360-degree camera. The tested Bronco Raptor with removable frameless doors carries a MSRP starting at $69,995 and collects estimated per gallon mileage of 15 city and 16 highway.
