Ford Ranger is quite the go-anywhere midsize truck when outfitted with the new 2021 Tremor Off-Road Package. Throughout a week-long test drive, the Ranger Tremor pleasantly gobbled up expressway miles, handily addressed hilly curves, and easily devoured heavily rutted roads. Factory-tailored fittings include a lifted suspension with off-road tuned monotube dampers, specially tuned front coil-over and rear multi-leaf springs, two front and two rear recovery hooks, a frame-mounted steel front bash plate, underbody skid plates, a six-switch auxiliary power pack (to handle wenches, air compressors and other accessories), and hoop-style side steps.

The 2021 Ford Ranger Tremor is powered by a 2.3-liter EcoBoost 4- cylinder engine with automatic start-stop technology. The 4-cylinder engine produces 270 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 310 lb-ft at 3000 rpm. Engine mates to a 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. Continental General Grabber 32-inch all-terrain tires and new wheel lips give Tremor a one-inch wider stance than the base Ranger. The $4,290 MSRP Tremor Off-Road Package is available on SuperCrew 4x4 XLT and Lariat trims. Estimated mpg for Ranger Tremor is 19 combined city/ highway.
