The 2021 Armada’s exterior restyling touches the hood, grille, front fenders, front/rear bumpers, headlamps/taillights, and the Nissan logo. Driver information is conveyed via a new 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen display, largest in the full-size SUV class, and a new 7.0-inch color meter display. With three rows of seating, Armada easily handles people shuttling and cargo hauling duties simultaneously. (The push of a cargo wall-located button quickly puts the third-row seat in a flat position.) With third row seat upright, there’s 16.5 cubic feet of cargo space. That increases to nearly 50 cubic feet with third row folded. There’s more than 95 cubic feet with second and third row seats folded.
Body-on-frame Nissan Armada is powered by a 5.6-liter Endurance V8 that produces 400 horsepower at 5800 rpm and 413 pounds-feet of torque at 4000 rpm. Compared to the 2020 SUV, that’s a 10 horsepower uptick and 19 more pounds-feet of torque. Armada’s lone engine option mates to a 7-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and manual mode. The vehicle is offered in four trims (S, SV, SL, and Platinum) with rear wheel drive or four wheel drive configurations. The tested 121.1-inch wheelbase Armada Platinum 4WD collects estimated mpg of 13 city/18 highway and carries a base MSRP of $68,000.
