The 2019 Ford Edge gets exterior alterations to the front/rear fascias, grille, hood, and lift-gate. Five new wheel styles compliment the design brushstrokes on a midsize sport utility vehicle that had its last major redesign in the 2015 model year. Edge is sold in three trims: SE, SEL, and Titanium. (The Sport trim has been replaced with the 2019 performance-minded ST.) A new Elite Appearance Package provides 20-inch brush-machined aluminum wheels with painted pockets, body color front/rear bumpers, and other cosmetic upgrades. A week-long test drive emphasized the Edge’s performance depth, exemplified by a steady ride and agile handling characteristics.

Powering the Edge is a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder EcoBoost engine that produces 250 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 275 pounds-feet of torque at 3000 rpm. (ST is powered by a twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6.) An 8-speed automatic replaces the prior 6-speed automatic transmission. The 112.2-inch wheelbase Edge provides a sufficient amount of cargo space with 73.4 cubic feet behind front row seats and 39.2 cubic feet behind the second row seats. New for 2019 features include a lens washer on the rearview camera. The test driven front wheel drive Edge Titanium collects estimated mpg of 22 city/29 highway and carries a base MSRP of $38,550.
