The Hyundai Santa Fe Sport’s front fascia facelift along with redesigned headlamps and taillights highlight the 2017 model year cosmetic changes. For the 2018 model year, the crossover utility vehicle is essentially unchanged. There’s plenty to like about the two-row Santa Fe Sport (sibling to the three-row Santa Fe). A week-long test drive showcased the vehicle’s eye-appealing cabin, which is virtually devoid of tire, wind, and road noise. Rear seat riders were impressed that the 40/20/40-split rear seat could slide and recline. Back seat passengers also gave high praise to the 39.4 inches of legroom, which is on par with the front occupants’ 41.3-inches of legroom.

Santa Fe Sport is powered by either a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder that provides 185 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 178 pounds-feet of torque, or a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that releases 240 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 260 pounds-feet of torque between 1450-3500 rpm. Both engines mate to a 6-speed automatic transmission. This CUV also provides a decent amount of hauling space with 35.4 cubic feet of cargo capacity behind the rear seat; cargo space expands to 71.5 cubic feet with rear seat folded. The test driven 106.3-inch wheelbase Santa Fe Sport 2.0T Ultimate with all wheel drive carries an MSRP of $37,200 and collects estimated mpg of 19 city/24 highway.
