With its last redesign in the 2011 model year, the Jeep Grand Cherokee keeps fresh with yet another trim version. The 2017 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk, billed as the most capable version to date, strutted its vast appeal during a week-long test drive. The SUV features lots of standard off- road features, including Jeep’s Quadra-Drive II 4x4 system with rear electronic limited slip differential. This SUV also has a specially designed air suspension for improved articulation. Grand Cherokee Trailhawk’s visual cues include red tow hooks in the front and rear, and special badges and red accents.
Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk’s standard engine is a 3.6-liter producing 295 horsepower/260 pounds- feet of torque. Optional engines for the Trailhawk 4x4: a 360 horsepower/390 torque 5.7-liter V8, and a 240 horsepower/420 torque 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6. All Jeep Grand Cherokee 2017 models are now equipped with standard rearview camera and rear park sensors. The test driven 114.8-inch wheelbase Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4x4 with 3.6-liter V6 and 8-speed automatic transmission collects estimated mpg of 18 city/25 highway and carries a base MSRP of $42,995.
