The big news on the 2015 LX 570 luxury SUV is the addition of Siri Eyes Free Mode with iPhone, 4S, and iPhone 5 compatibility as standard fare. Siri technology enables the user to do many things, like call contacts, select/play iTunes music, hear/compose text messages/emails, and obtain turn-by-turn navigation through Siri and Apple maps using voice commands. Other standard equipment on the LX 570 range from a power sliding second row seat and a power folding third row seat to illuminated running boards. Cargo volume ranges from 15.5 cubic feet (with third row upright) to more than 83 cubic feet.
LX 570 is powered by a 5.7-liter V8 that produces 383 horsepower at 5600 rpm and 403 pounds- feet of torque at 3600 rpm. The engine mates to a 6-speed automatic, sequential-shift electronically controlled transmission. During a one-week test drive, the 112.2-inch wheelbase LX 570 approvingly showed its full-time 4WD capabilities via a Torsen limited-slip locking center differential that adjusts torque distribution as needed. The engine provides 90% of peak torque at 2200 rpm, a nice feature for those who plan to use the 6000 curb weight SUV for towing (up to 7000 pounds maximum). The LX 570 carries a MSRP of $82,930 and collects estimated mpg of 12 city/17 highway.
