The CT 200h is one of a half-dozen hybrid vehicles on the Lexus roster. No other luxury nameplate has more hybrid vehicles. While the CT 200h didn’t showcase scorching acceleration during a one-week test drive, front and rear seat occupants lauded the smooth ride and seat comfort. Since its debut in 2011 model year, the CT 200h hasn’t had major changes. The new- for-2015 features include Siri Eyes-Free Mode. This standard offering means iPhone users can use voice commands for turn-by-turn navigation via Siri and Apple maps as well as calling cell phone contacts. A three-flash turn signal system is also new on the 102.4-inch wheelbase front wheel drive hybrid hatchback.

Powering the CT 200h is 1.8-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine and a 650-volt motor/generator for a combined 134 horsepower. A separate motor functions as the engine starter as well as the generator for charging the hybrid battery pack. The powertrain mates to an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission. A drive mode system offers four different settings: normal, sport, eco, or EV. In certain conditions, the EV mode can allow the car to be driven short distances using just the electric motors. Lexus CT 200h carries a MSRP of $32,050 and has estimated mpg of 43 city/40 highway.
