The MINI Cooper S Hardtop two-door is a true fun-fest on wheels. And the ride is just as enjoyable inside the 4-door hardtop, a new entry for 2015. While the 2-door model is a roomy ride for tall statue adults, the 4-door increases the comfortable level with more legroom, headroom and interior width for rear seat riders. During a one-week test drive, the 4-door showed its sensible side (pristine ride, easy-to-reach controls) amid a flair of delightful standard features (including sports seats with thigh and lateral support, and LED cabin mood lighting). The 4-door serves up 13.1 cubic feet of trunk space, 0.5 cubic feet more than the 2-door hardtop.

Powering the 4-door hardtop is either a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder or a 2.0-liter TwinPower turbo 4- cylinder, the latter producing 189 horsepower and 207 pounds-feet of torque. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard equipment as is 16-inch alloy wheels. Standard safety fare on the 4-door includes knee, front and side airbags as well as curtain airbags for front and rear seat occupants. Four-door hardtop’s wheelbase is 101.1 inches, 2.9 inches more than the 2-door hardtop. The 2015 MINI Cooper S Hardtop 4-door with 4-cylinder engine and optional 6-speed Steptronic automatic transmission collects estimated mpg of 26 city/33 highway and carries an MSRP of $25,100.
