VW’s U.S. sales leader, the Jetta, underwent a complete re-do in the 2011 model year. The car’s popularity will undoubtedly continue based on the latest round of changes for the 2012 model year. The modifications include the addition of the redesigned Jetta GLI as well as making four- wheel disc brakes a standard technology feature on all Jetta trim options. The test-driven Jetta--fitted with a 5-cylinder producing 170 horsepower at 5700 rpm and 177 pounds of torque at 4250 rpm--had ample performance power while showcasing a splendid ride/handling balance.
