For 2010, Mercury Milan revised its hood, grille, fenders as well as front and rear fascia, and the overall effect is a sedan with a bit more exterior pizzazz. Changes also were made under the skin, so both the 4-cylinder and the V6 gain power. The 3.0-liter V6 for 2010 has an estimated rating of 240 horsepower at 6550 rpm versus the previous generation’s 221 horsepower at 6250 rpm, and 223 pounds-feet torque at 4300 rpm versus the 2009 model’s 205 pounds-feet of torque at 4800 rpm. (The V6 flex-fuel engine’s horsepower and torque numbers are different when running on E85 ethanol.) Milan’s re-sculptured seats mean additional side support, so a power-inspired ride won’t leave driver and front passenger with achy back muscles.

Mercury Milan can accommodate lead-footers, but this sedan is also highly suited to leisurely sightseeing trips thanks in large part to an interior that’s been further refined for the 2010 model year. The gauge cluster looks sharper than ever. Whether the driver is checking out the dials in the daytime or nighttime, backlighting and other elements seemingly make the gauge numbers appear dimensionally crisp. Milan’s ambient lights can be engaged to illuminate front and rear foot wells as well as the front cupholders. The option list now includes a reverse camera viewing system and a 12-speaker Sony audio system. Mercury Milan all wheel drive Premier edition with V6 and 6-speed automatic transmission collects estimated per gallon fuel economy of 18 city/25 highway and carries an MSRP of $27,800.
