An all-new design and a change in platform highlight the 2010 Buick LaCrosse. With the first intensive makeover since the 2005 model year sedan, the new LaCrosse is offered in three trims: CX, CXL and CXS. LaCrosse is the first vehicle from the General Motors stable whose design and engineering links reflect input from three continents (U.S., Asia and Europe). Although the LaCrosse’s interior is quite inviting—especially the icy blue ambient colors that illuminate the instrument panel, center console and other cabin locales at nighttime—the unseen elements are special, too. LaCrosse’s acoustic headliner, made from recycled cardboard, helps keep unwanted road, powertrain and wind noise at bay.

On the performance side, the front wheel drive LaCrosse CX and CXL are fitted with a 3.0-liter V6 that produces 255 horsepower at 6900 rpm and 217 pounds-feet of peak torque at 5100 rpm. LaCrosse CXS has a 3.6-liter V6 that churns out 280 horsepower at 6300 rpm and 259 pounds-feet of peak torque at 4800 rpm. Both direct injection engines mate to a six-speed automatic transmission. LaCrosse has a 111.7-inch wheelbase and is available with all-wheel-drive. The midsize LaCrosse CXS provides a real-time active-dampening suspension and optional 19-inch alloy wheels. Mpg estimates for front wheel drive Buick LaCrosse with 3.6-liter V6 are 17 city and 27 highway with a MSRP of $33,015.
