To a few people, the all-new Avenger looks a bit like a Charger. In reality, this four-door is more closely linked to the Sebring since both cars share the same base mechanical underpinnings. But the Avenger really shouldn’t stand in another car’s shadow. This midsize car with a nearly 109-inch wheelbase is comic book cool. The Avenger R/T is Dodge’s first midsize sedan with all wheel drive capability, which makes it nimble. And it’s fast – not faster than a speeding bullet fast – but the R/T version is fitted with a standard 3.5-liter V6 engine (producing 235 horsepower at 6400 rpm) and a six-speed automatic transaxle. The car is also a safety freak with multi-stage front airbags, side curtain airbags, and front seat-mounted airbags.

Via its interior, the Avenger is decked-out in refrigerator-like coolness via a storage zone (big enough for 4 upright 12-ounce cans) that’s in tune with the ambient temperature and air conditioning setting. There’s also a front cupholder that can heat to 140 degrees Fahrenheit or cool to 35 degrees Fahrenheit. The sedan has 60/40 fold-flat rear seats, and with the available fold-flat front passenger seat that equates to a hearty amount of interior space, officially recorded as 100.9 cubic feet. Trunk space tallies 13.35 cubic feet. Avenger R/T gets estimated per gallon counts of 16 city/26 highway. MSRP of the Avenger R/T is $22,870.
