The first SUV for the Chrysler nameplate materializes as the Aspen. It’s a really great handling, great riding vehicle that seemingly appeared on the market without any fanfare. Aspen features three seating rows with the second and third row seats able to fold flat. With third row seats folded, the available cargo room is more than 68 cubic feet. All three seating rows have standard side curtain airbag protection. The all-new, four-door, full-size Aspen offers a power rear liftgate as well as a remote start system, rear-seat DVD system, and Sirius satellite radio among its available appointments. Aspen’s ride and handling is sturdy thanks to a 64.4-inch rear track and a 64.4-inch front track.

Only V8 engines – a 235 horsepower 4.7-liter and a 335 horsepower 5.7-liter Hemi – are offered for this new SUV. Transmission is an automatic 5-speed. The interior is sharp yet simplistic. Wood grains on the center stack, door armrests and steering wheel offset the two-tone color scheme. During night drives, the instrument cluster and the center stack’s analog clock glow in a soothing, low-key green hue. MSRP for the Aspen Limited is $33,520. Mileage counts for the 4x4 when powered by 4.7-liter V8 engine are 14 city and 18 highway with gasoline fuel. Ethanol/E-85 is an option with flex-fuel Aspen, which sports a 27-gallon fuel tank.
