Time and again, this reviewer has stated that wagons are great. The new Forenza wagon from Suzuki is a great wagon with a grand twist: a MSRP that is hundreds of dollars below $18,000. With close ties to the Forenza sedan, the wagon conveys a sleek and slender exterior appearance that taller minivans and sport utility vehicles cannot achieve. But don’t let the short stance block the fact that this wagon doesn’t skimp on interior cabin comfort (tilt-adjust steering wheel, 8-way adjustable driver seat, and more headroom than the Ford Focus wagon, Volkswagen Jetta wagon, and Subaru Impreza wagon). There’s also ample cargo carrying capability – up to 61.4 cubic feet.

The Forenza wagon doesn’t over-shock on power, but the performance is adequate for a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder that produces 126 horsepower at 5400 rpm and 131 pounds-feet torque at 4000 rpm. Engine mates to a four-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle’s impressively non-harsh ride flows through all-season tires and 15-inch wheels. On the safety side, Forenza wagon has four airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts as well as three-point seatbelts and adjustable headrests for all passengers. The long list of standard fittings includes cruise control, air conditioning, leather seating, leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, floor mats, 60/40 split-fold rear seats, fog lamps, and power/heated side mirrors. MSRP is $17,449 for Forenza Wagon EX.
